Dr Griffin graduated from the University of Bristol in 1995 as the Gold Medallist in her year. She was awarded a Doctorate of Medicine (MD) in 2006 from the University of Nottingham for research into the role of phoshodiesterase inhibitiors in anal sphincter function. She undertook higher specialist training in radiology at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital between 2002-6. She subsequently completed a 1-year Cross Sectional Fellowship at Addenbrooke’s hospital in Cambridge. Dr Griffin was then appointed as a Consultant Radiologist at Guys’ and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust in 2008.
Her general interests include oncology, hepatobiliary and genitourinary cross-sectional imaging. She is competent in neck, abdominal, scrotal, venous Doppler, transrectal and transvaginal ultrasound.
Her specialist interest is Gastrointestinal imaging with extensive expertise in bowel ultrasound, CT and MR enterography. The latter is particularly useful in the investigation of young patients with bowel symptoms as radiation is avoided. She also has extensive expertise in Virtual Colonoscopy for suspected colonic pathology.
